Leg Recovery
Happy Healthy Monday Everybody 😁…. Hope you all had a lovely weekend… Made more enjoyable by RUNNING about with healthy pain free knees (little bit green eyed here) . The weekend was good although trying to rest and stay put on the sofa is increasingly difficult. The girls want to play, big dog gives me the begging eyes and can’t quite get to grips with me not being able to take him out. The nose butts he keeps giving me says it all.Why is it always that when you cant do something you REALLY want to do it... such as go for a run!!! So Sofa abs began on Saturday… Not as many as I wished to do.. but have to start slowly 🤣. And the knee exercises have kicked in (excuse the pun). Food wise… Husband had a wonderful spread of healthy food from curry to stir fry…. However just too much of it. As one wants to sample it all its inevitable that over eating was going to happen… then the wine came. A little bit of a slippery slope. Thank goodness its Monday and a fresh week.. back to those kitchen abs in no time and back onto our diet which is mixture of Ayuvedic and paleo. More on that in the next snippet. But to elaborate slightly, both Ben and I have gained weight in the last 6 months (me because Ben has been home and therefore cooks and cooks bigger quantities…When he is away, sometimes a bowl of granola will suffice… I think most of you must do that once in a while… As long as the kids are fed…..). So we have started on a journey down the ayuvedic pathway and results are…. to follow next time!!
Today also sees my Dad having a new knee, well half to be exact! At 85 my father is the shining example of health and for the past 20 years or so has used food as medicine. He is my inspiration. His battles have included breast cancer, arthritis, 2 heart attacks, a hip replacement and today a new half knee, which will improve his quality of life no end (and his mood – hopefully)!! He can’t wait to get out and about again and bring his fitness back up to par, and be pain free. Dad had a battle to get his knee operation as he is not one to succumb to allopathic medicine, as a result of this his doctor concluded that he can’t be in any pain. Believe me, he was. However Dad used food and natural nutritional supplements to decrease inflammation and suppress pain. I follow his belief and methods wholeheartedly. So for anyone suffering /undergoing knee surgery…Here are A couple of exercises to start getting that knee back into gear…….
